Ronald McDonald House
MU SAND members gather at the Ronald McDonald House located near Cabell Huntington Hospital to prepare meals for the families. Ingredients are purchased by MU SAND via donations received and funds raised by on-going fundraising activities. Typically 4-6 members are in attendance to work together in the kitchens at the Ronald McDonald House to prepare three meals: a full dinner for the evening, an on-the-go breakfast for the next morning, and a crockpot ready dinner for the following evening.

MU SAND members gather in the food lab on the Marshall University campus to prepare ingredients and roll burritos to the standard given by the Burrito Riders on their website. MU SAND purchases the necessary ingredients with donations and funds raised throughout the year. The burritos are rolled and given to the Burrito Riders to support their Huntington, WV mission to feed the homeless.

Memorial Student Center
MU SAND members design an information table to distribute nutrition information to the campus community. Located in the Memorial Student Center during the mid-morning to lunch hours, the table time offers exposure during a high traffic time of both students, faculty, and visitors of Marshall Unversity. Each month the table has a theme to promote nutrition information that incorporates education and modeling offering visual displays, food(s) to taste, and a take-with publication or product. Information is distributed to all who engage and a donation jar for fundraising encourages some monetary return to SAND.

MU SAND collects non-perishible food donations to support the Huntington Area food bank. The collection campaign is subject to creative approach and change but the mission remains the same, to raise awareness and food stock.
